Father’s Day is coming up and we’ve found the perfect treat—Bourbon Bacon Cinnamon Rolls. Whether your dad loves breakfast or dessert, this is sure to make him feel loved.

The Recipe

With bourbon, bacon, and Southern Coffee, it’s hard to go wrong! Start this recipe by making the dough.

Dough:

3c. Bread Flour
3T. Sugar
1t. Baking powder
1/2t. Baking soda
1/2t. Salt
1c. Buttermilk
3T. Melted butter
2T. Bourbon

Sift all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Then, add buttermilk, melted butter, and bourbon. Mix just until combined.

Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead until smooth (Tip: dust the dough with flour as needed until it’s no longer sticky.) Roll into a rectangle that’s approximately 1/2-1/4” in thickness.

Next, make the filling and set aside. Be sure to save half of the bacon for topping the finished, iced rolls.

Filling:

4-5 pieces of bacon crumbled and divided in half
3T. Sugar
3/4c. Brown Sugar
2T. Cinnamon
1t. Nutmeg
3T. Melted butter

Now, back to the dough! Pour melter butter onto dough and spread with brush or spoon. Sprinkle most of filling mixture evenly on dough and roll into a log. Cut 1” rolls and place about 1/2” apart on greased or parchment paper lined pan (Tip: sprinkling a light dusting of sugar filling on the bottom of pan creates a yummy caramelized layer on bottom of rolls).
