Browned Butter Banana Bread

Browned Butter Banana Bread

Banana bread is unbeatable, especially when it comes to breakfast. With some clever naming, we've somehow tricked ourselves into making it acceptable to eat what's essentially a piece of cake before 10 a.m. You don’t see me complaining, though.

You’re bound to want to eat this particular banana bread morning through night! The key difference that makes this banana bread recipe special—browned butter. Browning the butter adds a hint of addictive nuttiness that helps bring all the flavor to life. Pair this delicious banana bread with your favorite blend of Southern Coffee Services coffee for an exceptional fall treat!

Browned Butter Banana Bread

3 bananas
1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
1/2 sour cream or Greek yogurt
2 eggs
1/3 c buttermilk
1 c All-purpose flour
3/4 c rolled oats
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt

First, brown butter on the stove top and then set it aside to cool. Next, Preheat oven to 325°F. In a large bowl, smash bananas and then mix in butter, sugar, sour cream, eggs, and buttermilk. With a whisk, sift all the dry ingredients together, then fold them into the banana mixture until just combined. Be sure to fold these in by hand rather than using a mixer. Lastly, pour your final mixture into a greased loaf pan and bake 50-60 minutes. When you are able to insert a knife and see that it comes out clean, it's ready!
