Minny's Chocolate Pie Recipe from The Help

A little over eight years ago, the movie company, Dreamworks, came to Greenwood, Mississippi to film the movie, The Help. I was fortunate to be hired as the food stylist for the movie. For six months I worked at home and on set to prepare the food for the scenes in the movie.

For those of you who are not familiar with The Help, let me just say that a chocolate pie plays a very important role in the movie. I discovered that a pie can change your life. I have been interviewed by newspapers, magazines, and television programs about that special pie. Beginning a new career in public speaking also stems from my experiences from working for the movie. I was also hired by Disney Studios to promote the DVD when it was released following the movie’s theatrical run.

A slice of Minny’s pie is a great accompaniment to a delicious cup of Southern Coffee Services' coffee. Give this delicious recipe a try. You’ll be glad you did.

 MINNY’S CHOCOLATE PIE

Mix all ingredients and pour into unbaked pie shell that has been pricked with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 -45 minutes. Cool and serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
